Word Play Wednesdays: Gaslight! A Poem by Boma

Welcome to Word Play Wednesday!
Word Play Wednesday is a weekly feature of written and spoken word poetry. I will be sharing my written and spoken word poems in addition to poems by other like minds. If you are interested in sharing some of your poetry, feel free to buzz me and we can work something out.
I hope that you enjoy reading and listening to our thoughts, feelings and rants and in many ways relate to some of them.
Enjoy!

Today’s poem was written by a fellow poet, Boma.

 Gaslight

I have doubted my sanity

I doubt no more

I shout no more

I’ve been made a fool

A tool

Mockery in your sight

Deceit in your eyes

Do not tell me what I saw

Cos you will tell me the black goat

Was white with rope around a post

I second guess myself no more

I apologise no more

For the offences I’ve committed

For the offences I never committed

For the offences I will commit

I know you will play the victim

But I’m prepared for you,

I’m the victor here

Even better I’d play the villain

The benevolent tyrant

Have no fear

I haven’t run insane

I have only learnt your game

And I’m dishing it back to you

Served piping hot

Steaming like a waiting volcano

Its your turn to doubt your sanity

Take a seat strap on your seat belt

Cos I’m about to drive you beyond the edge

Ha!

I will drive you crazy.
