Book Review: Can I Give My Husband Back? by Kristen Bailey

Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was an unputdownable, hilarious and over the top read that entertained me for a whole day non-stop. The story is centered around Emma, a Surgeon and mother of two beautiful girls who is recently divorced from her husband Simon. This book takes us through the journey of how the life she thought she had crumbled at her feet and her attempts to start all over again with the help of her family who support her and each other all the way.

This book really got me laughing out loud almost throughout the entire length of it. The humor was solid and the characters were so relatable especially Emma. It was particularly heartwarming to see the love, support and protectiveness amongst the five sisters as I am one of five sisters myself and totally understand how this works in a closely knit family. Lucy’s character was also an interesting one that spiced things up really good. The only character I didn’t like was Simon for obvious reasons.

What I didn’t like about this book is that I felt at some point the story became too stretched and should have ended earlier than it did. The last couple of chapters or more didn’t seem to add any value to the story and if not for the consistent humor I may have become really bored.

Nevertheless, this was a great read and I would definitely be reading it again and also plan to check out other books by the author.

I highly recommend this book to lovers of romance, humor and contemporary fiction.
