I have had this book on my TBR for over a month now. I got interested to read something by the author when I read a review by @now_booking (on Instagram) and I finally got around to read it yesterday.
This was a fast paced, enjoyable read. The story is about Louisa, the daughter of a con-man and one herself who is out to avenge her father’s death and she hopes to achieve this by being a member of Kenny’s gang (her target). After 3 years of trying, by a stroke of luck she is able to swindle Kenny and is on the run from the entire gang. In the course of it all she meets business tycoon, Casmir Otong and the attraction is electric. Although they are worlds apart with loads of baggage from their pasts, non of this seems to matter whenever they are together.
This book kept me spell bound from the beginning until the end. The characters were an interesting lot especially Louisa. I am not too big on crime but with the mix of a hot and spicy romance going on in the middle of it all, it made for great reading. The suspense towards the end was also well written and I liked the fact that it wasn’t too predictable.
This book should have gotten a 5 star rating from me if I hadn’t found some aspects of the story a bit too far fetched. There were some parts that I didn’t think would happen in real life but I guess that is why we read fiction.
This is my first book by the author and I really enjoyed reading this book I hope to read more of her work and I am already excited thinking about it. If you like romance with a bit of action/crime /suspense, then you may love this one. I recommend!
Rating: 4 Stars
