Book Tag: The Finished Books Tag

Hello guys,

I hope you are all doing well and your day has been good so far.

I think I’ve caught the book tag fever!

I saw this tag over at Elaine Howlin’s Blog (do check her blog out) and I decided to try it out because it seemed like a fun thing to do.

So here we go…..

Do you keep a list of books you have read?

Not really but I log in almost every book I read on Goodreads for my yearly book challenge. Unfortunately, I get to read a number of unpublished books sent to me by publishers or authors that are not on Goodreads and sometimes I forget the number of those ones I have read in a year.

If you record statistics, what statistics do you record?

The only statistics I can say I record is my fiction vs non-fiction reads.

Do you give star ratings for books and if so, what do you score books out of and how do you come about this score?

Yes, I give star ratings to books I most books I read. Here they are…

5 Stars – I loved everything about this book. I highly recommend.

4 Stars – I loved this book but there were a few parts I didn’t quite agree with or like or it was a bit too long for my liking. I would still highly recommend.

3 Stars – This book was just ok with nothing spectacular to it. It may be because it is not my preferred genre or there were several things I couldn’t relate to or like.

2 Stars – I struggled to finish it and I didn’t really like the book. It was not to my taste at all.

1 Star – I didn’t like this book at all and probably didn’t finish reading it.

Note: I also use 0.5 ratings to the normal ratings and they fall in-between each star e.g a 4.5 Stars falls between the typical 5 and 4 Stars

Do you review books?

Yes I do but I do not review all the books I read. I occasionally review some non-fiction books especially if I really enjoyed reading them and all ARCs.

Please find my review policy below:

Review Policy

If you are an author or publisher and would like me to read and review your book, kindly contact me using the form below. I will respond to your mail within 5-7 days and confirm if I will be able to read and review your book.

Please note that I have a day job and I am also a wife and mother of three who reads for escape and entertainment so It is unlikely that I will be able to read a book sent to me in just a few days. I will try to read and review books sent to me within 15 days of receipt.

I do not read the following genres:

  • Horror
  • Sci-fi
  • Children’s
  •  Thrillers

I currently receive only e-copies and preferably in PDF format.

Where do you put your finished books?

Hard copies go on my bookshelf while e-books and audio books remain on my phone or other reading device.

Do you have any other rituals for when you have finished a book?

I don’t do this for all the books I read, but I love to chat about most of the books I have read with my husband and some of my friends who also read a lot of books.

I hope you enjoyed reading my responses to this tag and if you would like to do this consider yourself tagged!

Have a fun day!
