Book Tag Tuesday: The Book Cake Tag

Hello everyone,

I hope your week has been good so far. It’s book tag tuesday!

This book tag was created by Lorna on Booktube (readinglorna). The rules are simple: bake a cake out of books! For each ingredient, pick the book of your choice. Since I don’t know how to bake anythoing, I figured this may be my only chance to bake a cake but a book cake instead. Wish me luck!

Self-raising flour: A book that started slow then picked up

I recently finished reading this book and like I said in my review (you can check it out in “Book Reviews”) it started really slowly for me but when it kicked off, I couldn’t stop reading it until the end. It’s a great book and I highly recommend it.

Butter: A book with a really rich and intense plot

This is one of my favorite reads by the author and my best in the Tudor Court series. I loved the way the author told the story from the eyes of a “Holy Fool” in the court of King Henry VIII. The story was filled with intrigue, deceit, lies, love, lust and so on. I always think of this book.

Eggs: A book you had reservations about but actually really enjoyed

I got a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review and since the author was new to me, I was skeptical whether I would like the story or not so I went into it blindly but came out utterly delighted by the story, characters and theme. I am looking out for other books by the author and would be delighted to get another opportunity to read a book by her again.

Sugar: A sweet book

This is one of my favorite reads of 2020. I can only describe it as so so sweet. I loved the premise of the love story and how the romance developed until the end. Although it was steamier than my usual preference in romance novels, I still really loved reading the book. I will definitely do a re-read this year.

Icing: A book that included all the things you enjoy in a book

Everything about this book is perfect. The plot, the theme, the characters, the writing style, the story from beginning to end. It was hilarious, it was sad, it had some suspense, court room drama and romance. This is a totally complete book and I have read this book every single year since it was published in 201o and will surely read it again this year.

Sprinkles: A book or series that you return to for a pick-me-up when you are feeling down

This book is filled with dark humor, my typical

Cherry on top: Your Favorite book of the year

This collection of short stories inspired by songs is my best read of 2020 and I can’t get enough of it after two reads. Great stories, great characters, great writing. I highly recommend!

I hereby present my lovely “Book Cake” to you and I hope you enjoy the taste of it!

Enjoy the rest of your day.
