Book Review: What I know For Sure by Oprah Winfrey

This book came highly recommended by my lovely bookish friend @theduchessofkanta (on instagram) and she is yet to recommend a book to me that doesn’t end up with a 4 or 5 star rating from me. Thank you Umaymah, this book is a treasure.

Oprah Winfrey in this book, shares the wisdom she has gained in the course of her life as a child, a woman, a TV personality, an entrepreneur and a friend. At age 60, she gathers knowledge and understanding from numerous experiences on the many facets of her life and lessons learned along this path which she shares in this book as the things she now knows for sure about life.

My biggest take-away from this experience is the fact that for the first time in my life, I asked myself this question, “What do you know for sure?” and I ended up with a list of 12 things I know for sure (at least for now). In the process of reading this book, I was also inspired to write a poem which I hope to share with you all in the near future and this is one of the things I love the most about my reading, when it inspires me to write. This book will make you think deeply, see some things clearly and love more.

I highly recommend this book to everyone and “I know for sure” that I will be reading it again soon.
