Hello everyone,
I hope you are all doing great. I saw this book tag a few months ago on several blogs and took a mental note to do it at the perfect time. Since that time has come because tomorrow is my birthday, I am giving it a shot. Happy Birthday to me!
I hope you enjoy reading my responses. So here we go……
BIRTHDAY CAKE – a book with a plot that seems cliche but you adore it anyway

This story has a bit of a cliche plot of prince charming meets regular girl and then they love in love but I truly adored the story and always recommend.
Synopsis: Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can’t seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a “take me home” look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker’s owner reaches out. He’s a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.
Well, Sloan’s not about to give up her dog without a fight. As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can’t deny a connection. There’s no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?
PARTY GUESTS – your most anticipated book release this year

I discovered this author after a friend recommended one of her books (The Familiars) and I immediately became a fan after I read the book. I have also read her second book (The Foundling) and now I can’t wait to read her new book due to be released in June 2021.
Synopsis: West Yorkshire, 1904.
When newly graduated nurse Ruby May takes a position looking after the children of Charles and Lilian England, a wealthy couple from a powerful dynasty of mill owners, she hopes it will be the fresh start she needs. But as she adapts to life at the isolated Hardcastle House, it becomes clear there’s something not quite right about the beautiful, mysterious Mrs England. Ostracised by the servants and feeling increasingly uneasy, Ruby is forced to confront her own demons in order to prevent history from repeating itself. After all, there’s no such thing as the perfect family – and she should know.
Simmering with slow-burning menace, Mrs England is a portrait of an Edwardian marriage, weaving an enthralling story of men and women, power and control, courage, truth and the very darkest deception. Set against the atmospheric landscape of West Yorkshire, Stacey Halls’ third novel proves her one of the most exciting and compelling new storytellers of our times.
BIRTHDAY PRESENTS – a book that surprised you with how much you loved it

This was the first book I read by the author and I wasn’t sure of what to expect. I was however pleasantly surprised and loved the experience.
Synopsis: I am not your regular girly girl. I hate wigs, high heels, and I detest tight gowns and skirts. Some people call me a tomboy. And I don’t mind because let’s face it, girly girls are boring.
My best friend Adaora, who is a girly girl by the way, disagrees completely. When she begs me to join her in her quest to find a husband, I reluctantly agree. Not that I hate men but they are not high on my to-do list. I have three elder brothers who are pigs, I tell you.
Then I meet arrogant, pompous Richard who gets my blood running and for the first time in my life, I just might be open to this romance thing.
The problem is that he comes with a lot of drama. From his ex.
I’m not the kind of girl that fights over a man. But is Richard worth all the trouble?
THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG – a book that certainly deserved all the hype it got

I went into reading this book wondering if all the hype was for real and it is definitely for real! I went ahead to read the other two book in the series. However, this is the one.
Synopsis: Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.
Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.
A Love Story for this generation and perfect for fans of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?
HAPPY MUSIC – a book with some very beautiful and truly memorable quote

This book gave me so many note worthy quotes that makes me know it’s one of those books I will be reading at least once every year to keep them fresh in my memory.
Synopsis: Why do some people have the courage to make brave decisions and lead exciting, rewarding, and impactful lives while others only sit on the sidelines, watching enviously?
Entrepreneur and adventurer Franziska Iseli believes that anyone can learn to unlock their inner courage and live an extraordinary life. Iseli decided to write a book about courage while on a multi-year motorbike journey around the world. All of that “helmet time” allowed her to ponder what so many people ask her about her businesses and daring international adventures:
Where do you find the courage to do what you do?
In this, her third book, Iseli shares her 13 principles for living a life of courage and breaking through any barriers or obstacles life throws your way.
Embark on this exciting adventure with Iseli as you discover how to unlock the boundless courage and power within you. Here are a few of the amazing life lessons you’ll learn in this book:
Why courage is the most important life skill you need to learn (and yes, anyone can learn to develop more courage!)
The difference between being courageous and being fearless or reckless (and how to distinguish an impostor from the real deal)
How to expand your Courage Boundaries step-by-step so you can systematically grow your ability to take on new challenges and adventures in life
How to define the life you truly want to live, and a process you can follow for sticking to it (especially when things don’t go as planned)
How to develop an irresistible love for life that will draw people to you, and turn something that used to terrify you into an exciting call for adventure
Through her personal experiences and quirky sense of humor, Franziska Iseli will help you face everything life may throw at you with courage: from navigating past “poop showers” to making brave decisions without fear of what might happen in the future. Her fresh prose is not only a delight to read, but full of both insight and inspiration.
This isn’t your typical personal development book. This is real, raw, honest, and full of practical life lessons from someone who is walking the walk and living a life of courage, meaning, and impact.
GETTING OLDER – a book that you read a long time ago, but you think that you would appreciate it more if you read it as a more mature reader

I read this book over 10 years ago and over the years, I have matured in many ways and know for sure that I would appreciate reading this book better now than when I first read it.
Synopsis: A #1 New York Times bestseller, The Purpose Driven Life will help you understand why you are alive and reveal God’s amazing plan for you both here and now, and for eternity. Rick Warren will guide you through a personal forty-day spiritual journey that will transform your answer to life’s most important question: What on earth am I here for? Knowing God’s purpose for creating you will reduce your stress, focus your energy, simplify your decisions, give meaning to your life, and most important, prepare you for eternity.
Movie stars and political leaders aren’t the only ones turning to Rick Warren for spiritual guidance. Millions of people from NBA and LPGA players to corporate executives to high school students to prison inmates meet regularly to discuss The Purpose Driven Life.
SWEET BIRTHDAY MEMORIES – a book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life

This was one of my top 3 reads of 2020 and was really a comfort at the time. I hope to read it again sometime this year.
Synopsis: I’d never forgotten him—a man I’d yet to meet.
Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break.
Until one day it did.
Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one—one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing.
Griffin forgave me, and somehow we were able to rekindle our childhood connection. Only now we were adults, and that connection had grown to a spark. Our letters quickly went from fun to flirty to downright dirty, revealing our wildest fantasies. So it only made sense that we would take our relationship to the next level and see each other in person.
Only Griff didn’t want to meet. He asked that I trust him and said it was for the best. But I wanted more—more Griff, in the flesh—so I took a big chance and went looking for him. People have done crazier things for love.
But what I found could change everything.
