Book Review: Life’s Too Short by Abby Jimenez

This is the third book in “The Friend Zone” series and since the first two (The Happy Ever After playlist and The Friend Zone) were very good reads, my hopes were really high for this one.

This is a “friends to lovers” romance featuring Vanessa and Adrian. Vanessa is a celebrity Vlogger who has suddenly become a single mum to Grace (her niece) while Adrian is a successful lawyer who is committed to his job. They live next door to each other in Adrian’s apartment building and never met until fate brought them together. Since neither of them are interested in dating anyone, they quickly develop an open minded genuine friendship that is both exciting and comforting. They both become a support system for each other until they begin to realize that they have fallen in love. This seems to be a match made in heaven until Adrian discovers he has missed one very vital information about Vanessa and their opposing views on the issue threatens to pull them apart. This is a story about love, loyalty and courage.

This was such a good read. I am sold out on Abby Jimenez and will definitely be reading anything she writes. It was funny, relatable and I loved both Adrian and Vanessa’s characters. I listened to the audio version on audible and I believe this enhanced the experience. It was well written considering the fact it had some heavy themes such as a life threatening disease, substance abuse and addiction. It was also thought provoking as it made me ponder about the things that really matter in life and what legacy I would like to leave behind for my family and loved ones when I pass on.

This book was fantastic on every side, couldn’t put it down. Therefore, I highly recommend and waiting patiently for the next book by the author.
