Author Interview: The Fertile Chick

Hello everyone,

Welcome to our monthly feature for authors.

The author for the month of November is Adesuwa Nwokedi aka “The Fertile Chick”, author of over eighteen books and the recently published ‘Ginika’s Bridesmaids Series’. I have read and reviewed her books on this blog and you can check out my reviews to see if it’s something you may be interested to read.

Today’s interview will give us a sneak-peek into Adesuwa’s life as a published author. I hope you enjoy reading her answers to these ten questions but first let’s begin with an introduction of the author.

So here we go…..

The Author:

The Writer, who became an Engineer, who became an Investment Banker, who became a Fertility Spokesperson, who became…a Writer.
That has been the journey of A. T. Nwokedi, aka The Fertile Chick. A self confessed hopeless romantic, when she is not creating new characters, she devotes her time to creating memories with her husband and their three children.

The Interview:

1.

WHEN DID YOU START WRITING?

TFC: 2015

2.

WHAT IS THE MOST SURPRISING THING YOU DISCOVERED WHILE WRITING?

TFC: How easily I get lost in the world of my characters.

3.

IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF GOOD WRITING?

TFC: A very vivid imagination; A good support system

4.

WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN TO USE A PSEUDONYM TO WRITE YOUR BOOKS?

TFC: It started off that way when I had my online fertility community by the same name. By the time my books started gaining ground, it was too late to change.

5.

WHAT IS YOUR WRITING KRYPTONITE?

TFC: A heavy workload with my day job. That’s enough to kill my mojo 😊

6.

IF YOU COULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER WRITING SELF ANYTHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

TFC: To enjoy the process. It sounds cliché but my writing got easier when I released myself to write the kind of stories I love and enjoy, not what I think everyone else seems to be doing.

7.

AS AN INDIE AUTHOR, WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE BOOK PUBLISHING SPACE ESPECIALLY WITH E-BOOKS?

TFC: It’s been very good, especially as I started off with very little expectations. I’ve been blown away by the reception of my stories, even if only in e-form.

8.

WHAT DOES LITERARY SUCCESS LOOK LIKE TO YOU?

TFC: To have and maintain a steady community of readers that love my stories and support my work.

9.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE LITERARY CRITICISM?

TFC: I take on the learnings, if any.

10.

ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOUR READERS?

TFC: Finishing the Ginika’s Bridesmaids series, Participating in a Valentine’s Day anthology, Book 2 of the Malomo High Reunion series, and a possible epilogue to the Bridesmaids series.

Special thanks to the author once again for granting this interview.

I hope you enjoyed reading her responses to the 10 questions as much as I did.
