This is my first book by the author however I still had high expectations going into it based on the many recommendations and reviews.
When Daniel, Piper Bellinger’s step father is fed-up with her shenanigan’s, he banishes her to spend 3 months at Westport a small fishing town, faraway from her fashionable Beverly Hills life. Although, her sister accompanies her for support, no one really believes she will survive a week at Westport. This is where she meets fisherman/widower, Brendan who at first thinks Piper is a spoilt brat from Hollywood but finds that he is drawn to her beauty and surprisingly her heart.
This book ticked all the boxes for a perfect romance/ rom-com book for me. In fact, it is was romance on steroids in my opinion. It was cheesy, funny, spicy and still carried relevant themes. I always like it when a male protagonist knows what he wants, fights for the female protagonist and gets her in the end. I loved Brendan’s character like crazy and Piper turned out to be such a darling. Also, the “self-discovery” journey their relationship took them on was heartwarming and I don’t think I can fully express how good this made me feel. Of course, the humor splashed all over the book to keep me entertained and although I knew the story had to end, I didn’t really want it to end.
I can’t wait for March 2022 when the next book in this series is scheduled to be released. I highly recommend.
