This is the last book in the “Callaghan Sisters” series and It has been such an awesome journey. You can check out my reviews of the other four books in this series in “Book Reviews”.
‘Am I Allergic to Men?’ follows the last sister and baby of the family Lucy. We have seen a lot of Lucy in the last four books and to be honest I was expecting something outrageous based on her history. However, Lucy gets into a ghastly accident that almost takes her life but she survives but wakes up from a coma as her 17 year old self. She has no memory of the last 12 years and her entire family and friends do all they can to help her recollect anything that can get her back to the crazy, fun Lucy they have all come to depend on.
As usual, despite Lucy’s near death experience, this was such a fun read. It got me thinking how my 17 year old self would feel about what I have done in the last 10 years if she was just being told about it. It was very interesting to go on a journey with Lucy to trying to piece things together and also actually seeing how so much has changed in the world in the last 12 years like the use of smart phones, social media and even common vocabulary. I was also touched by the strong family bond the Callaghan family had and how they stuck together in everything (It reminds me of my sisters and I), it was most admirable and shows how important family and support can be. I would definitely miss this lot and I look forward to the author creating more spectacular characters such as these sisters.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I highly recommend this book. Desperately waiting for the author’s next book.
