Abby Jimenez has fast become one of my favorite romance authors. After reading her first three books, I couldn’t wait to read this new release and enjoy her heartwarming stories once again.
‘Part of Your World’ is an age-gap/opposites attract/social class disparity trope featuring Alexis, the 37 year old ER doctor from a very influential and wealthy family and Daniel, the 28 year old small town Mayor/Carpenter. Alexis is just recovering from an abusive relationship when she meets Daniel. Although she has no plans of dating anyone, she realizes that she is attracted to him and he is absolutely smitten by her. However, they both recognize the fact that they are from two different worlds which can never merge but wonder if they can survive being apart having tasted how amazing they both are to each other. This story covers themes such as emotional/mental abuse, domestic violence, recovering from abuse, courage and true love.
This book was absolutely awesome. It was everything I would love a rom-com to have. The characters were lovable and relatable, the story had some heavy themes but was so well done that they added more value than make you feel sad. It was also written with the right amount of wit and the romance was what romance books should be made of. Having read a number of not-so-impressive books this month, this was a breath of fresh air and more. Well done Abby, you did it again, this is a hit!
I definitely recommend this book to all romance lovers. It is a quick read that will pull you in and make you do nothing else until you are done with it. Now I can’t wait for the next book by her.
