Welcome to Word Play Wednesday!
Word Play Wednesday is a weekly feature of written and spoken word poetry. I will be sharing my written and spoken word poems in addition to poems by other wonderful Poets both past and present. If you are interested in sharing some of your poetry, feel free to buzz me and we can work something out.
I hope that you enjoy reading and listening to our thoughts, feelings and rants and in many ways relate to some of them.
Enjoy!
This week I will be sharing a poem I recently wrote as part of an exercise given during a poetry workshop I attended where we were learning about writing poetry in form and the different forms in which you can write poetry. This was my attempt to create my own form. It’s a poem about a cycle in a relationship.
Play. Rewind. Repeat.
You love me,
Bliss.
You hurt me,
Grief.
You woo me,
Kiss.
You love me,
Bliss.
Play. Rewind. Repeat.
On and on it goes
Back and forth
We rock this boat
Round and round we go
Like children on a carousel
Play. Rewind. Repeat.
On and on it goes
It’s time
To stop.
This vicious cycle
of love
of tears
of pain
It’s time
To stop
